چکیده
Abstract Background As is well recognized that inflammation plays a crucial role in the genesis and progression of various cancer. Here we investigate prognostic value novel index: combination neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio platelet distribution width (coNLR-PDW) post-operation patients with resectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was utilized determine optimal cutoff values continuous variables, including neutrophil-lymphocyte (NLR) (PDW). Kaplan-Meier method Log-rank test were used compare survival differences across three groups stratified by coNLR-PDW score. Univariate multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression analyses adopted identify independent factors HCC patient’s prognosis. Results 1.59 13.0 perceived as for NLR PDW based on ROC curve, respectively. revealed higher score predicts poorer overall (OS) disease-free (DFS) ( P < 0.001). demonstrated an factor both OS DFS using analysis training validation cohort. Conclusion valuable biomarker predicting HCC.

Prognostic value of simple inflammation based markers in hepatocellular carcinoma
Despite recent progression in cancer diagnosis and treatment, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a destructive disease with a dismal prognosis. As a hallmark of cancer, tumor-associated systemic inflammation and tumor inflammatory microenvironment play significant roles in cancer development and progression. HCC represents a typical instance of inflammation-related cancer since most HCC cas...

Inflammation plays an important role in cancer progression. In this study, we aimed to investigate the prognostic value of the systemic inflammatory biomarkers in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients undergoing curative resection. Data from 271 HCC patients who underwent curative resection in Zhongshan Hospital between 2008 and 2011 were included. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that g...
متن کاملThe prognostic value of inflammation-based scores in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma patients prior to treatment with sorafenib
Background and Aims The multikinase inhibitor sorafenib is the only currently approved drug for the indication of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It provides a limited gain in survival time but is frequently associated with adverse events. We currently lack simple prognostic factors in sorafenib-treated HCC patients. Various inflammation-based scores (IBSs) have been evaluated as predi...

Systemic inflammation responses have been associated with cancer development and progression. C-reactive protein (CRP), Glasgow prognostic score (GPS), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (LMR), and neutrophil-platelet score (NPS) have been shown to be independent risk factors in various types of malignant tumors. This retrospective anal...

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the 5th commonest malignancy worldwide and is the third most common cause of cancer-related death. The prevalence is different in the world. The ability to predict patients at higher risk of recurrence and with a poor prognosis would help to guide surgical and chemotherapeutic treatment according to individual risk. As understanding of hepatocarcinogenesi...
